حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا يحيی بن حمزة حدثني برد بن سنان عن إسحق بن قبيصة عن أبيه أن عبادة بن الصامت الأنصاري النقيب صاحب رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم غزا مع معاوية أرض الروم فنظر إلی الناس وهم يتبايعون کسر الذهب بالدنانير وکسر الفضة بالدراهم فقال يا أيها الناس إنکم تأکلون الربا سمعت رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم يقول لا تبتاعوا الذهب بالذهب إلا مثلا بمثل لا زيادة بينهما ولا نظرة فقال له معاوية يا أبا الوليد لا أری الربا في هذا إلا ما کان من نظرة فقال عبادة أحدثک عن رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم وتحدثني عن رأيک لن أخرجني الله لا أساکنک بأرض لک علي فيها إمرة فلما قفل لحق بالمدينة فقال له عمر بن الخطاب ما أقدمک يا أبا الوليد فقص عليه القصة وما قال من مساکنته فقال ارجع يا أبا الوليد إلی أرضک فقبح الله أرضا لست فيها وأمثالک وکتب إلی معاوية لا إمرة لک عليه واحمل الناس علی ما قال فإنه هو الأمر

 ہشام بن عمار، یحییٰ بن حمزة، برد بن سنان، اسحاق بن قبیصہ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھی حضرت عبادہ بن صامت انصاری سر زمین روم میں معاویہ کے ساتھ لڑائی میں شریک تھے انہوں نے لوگوں کو دیکھا کہ وہ سونے کے ٹکڑوں کو دیناروں اور چاندی کے ٹکروں کی درہموں کے بدلے میں خرید و فروخت کر رہے ہیں ، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ اے لوگوں تم سود کھا رہے ہو میں نے جناب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا سونا سونے کے بدلہ میں صرف برابر برابر بیچو جس میں نہ تو کمی ہو نہ زیادتی ہو اور نہ ادھار۔ معاویہ نے ان سے کہا اے ابوالولید! میرے نزدیک یہ سود نہیں ہے الا یہ کہ ادھار ہو، عبادہ نے کہا میں آپ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بات بتاتا ہوں اور آپ اپنی رائے بیان کرتے ہو۔ اگر اللہ نے مجھے یہاں سے نکلنے کا موقع دیا تو میں آپ کے ساتھ ایسی سر زمین میں نہیں ٹھہروں گا جس کے والی آپ ہوں ، پھر جب وہ لوٹے تو مدینہ منورہ آئے، عمر بن خطاب نے ان سے پوچھا اے ابوالولید کس چیز نے آپ کو واپس کیا؟ انہوں نے پورا واقعہ بیان کیا اور اپنے ٹھہرنے کے متعلق اپنے قول کا تذکرہ کیا، عمر نے فرمایا اے ابوالولید اسی سر زمین کی طرف لوٹ جاؤ اللہ یسی زمین کو قبیح کریں جس میں آپ نہ ہوں یا آپ جیسے نہ ہوں اور معاویہ کو خط لکھا کہ آپ کو ان پر کوئی ولایت نہیں لوگوں کو ویسا کرنے کا حکم دیں جیسا انہوں نے فرمایا ہے کیونکہ (دین کا) حکم وہی ہے۔

 It was narrated from Ishâq bin Qabisah from his father that 'Ubâdah bin Sâmit Al-Ansâri, head of the army unit, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) , went on a military campaign with Mu'âwiyah in the land of the Byzantines. He saw people trading pieces of gold for Dinár and pieces of silver for Dirham. He said: "0 people, you are consuming Ribâ (usury)! For I heard the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) say: 'Do not sell gold for gold unless it is like for like; there should be no increase and no delay (between the two transactions)." Mu'âwiyah said to him: "0 Abu Walid, I do not think there is any Riba involved in this, except in cases where there is a delay."'Ubâdah said to him: "I tell you a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) , and you tell me your opinion! If Allah brings me back safely I will never live in a land in which you have authority over me." When he returned, he stayed in Al-Madinah, and 'Umar bin Khattâb said to him: "What brought you here, 0 Abu Walid?" So he told him the story, and what he had said about not living in the same land as Mu'âwiyah. 'Umar said:

"Go back to your land, 0 Abu Walid, for what a bad land is the land from where you and people like you are absent." Then he wrote to Mu'âwiyah and said: "You have no authority over him; make the people follow what he says, for he is right." (Hasan)
