حدثنا يحيی بن أيوب وقتيبة يعني ابن سعيد وابن حجر قالوا حدثنا إسمعيل هو ابن جعفر عن العلا عن أبيه عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم قال إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عنه عمله إلا من ثلاثة إلا من صدقة جارية أو علم ينتفع به أو ولد صالح يدعو له

یحیی بن ایوب، قتیبہ، ابن حجر، اسماعیل بن جعفر، العلاء، حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا جب انسان مر جاتا ہے تو تین اعمال کے علاوہ تمام اعمال منقطع ہو جاتے ہیں صدقہ جاریہ یا وہ علم جس سے نفع اٹھایا جائے یا نیک اولاد جو اس کے لیے دعا کرتی رہے۔
Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).

اسماعیل بن ابی کریمة حرانی، محمد بن سلمہ، ابوعبدالرحیم، زید بن ابی انیسہ، زید بن اسلم، عبداللہ بن ابی قتادہ، حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا آدمی اپنے پیچھے (دنیا میں) جو چھوڑ جائے اس میں بہترین چیزیں تین ہیں (1) نیک اولاد جو اس کے لیے دعائے خیر کرتی رہے۔ (2) صدقہ جاریہ جس کا اجر اس کو ملتا رہے۔ (3) علم جس پر اس کے بعد عمل ہوتا رہے۔ حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے ایک اور سند سے بھی (بعینہ اسی مفہوم کا) یہ مضمون منقول کیا گیا ہے۔
'Abdulldh bin Abi Qatâdah narrated that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The best things that a man can leave behind are three: A righteous son who will pray for him, ongoing charity whose reward will reach him, and knowledge which is acted upon after his death.'" (Hasan) Another chain with similar meaning.
