حدثنا أبو بکر بن أبي شيبة وعمرو الناقد وزهير بن حرب قالوا حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه سمع النبي صلی الله عليه وسلم رجلا يعظ أخاه في الحيا فقال الحيا من الإيمان حدثنا عبد بن حميد حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري بهذا الإسناد وقال مر برجل من الأنصار يعظ أخاه

ابوبکر بن ابی شیبہ، عمرو الناقد، زہیر بن حرب، سفیان بن عیینہ، زہری، سالم نے اپنے باپ ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے سنا کہ ایک آدمی اپنے بھائی کو حیا کے متعلق نصیحت کر رہا ہے فرمایا حیاء ایمان کی ایک شاخ ہے۔ عبد بن حمید، عبدالرزاق، معمر، زہری، اس روایت کے یہ الفاظ ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم انصار کے ایک آدمی کے پاس سے گزرے جو اپنے بھائی کو حیا داری کی نصیحت کررہا ہے۔
Salim reported on the authority of his father that the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man instruction his brother about modesty. Upon this the Prophet remarked: Modesty is an ingredient of Iman (faith).
Zuhri has narrated this hadith with the addition of these words: He (the Holy Prophet) happened to pass by a mass of Ansar who was instructing his brother (about modesty).

حدثنا سهل بن أبي سهل ومحمد بن عبد الله بن يزيد قالا حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه قال سمع النبي صلی الله عليه وسلم رجلا يعظ أخاه في الحيا فقال إن الحيا شعبة من الإيمان

سہل ابن ابی سہل و محمد بن عبداللہ بن یزید، سفیان، زہری، سالم، حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو سنا جو اپنے بھائی کو حیا کے ترک کی نصیحت کر رہا تھا آپ نے فرمایا حیا تو ایمان کا حصہ ہے۔
It was narrated from Sâlim that his father said: "The Prophet P.B.U.H heard a man urging his brother to be modest. He said: 'Indeed, modesty is a branch of faith.'" (Sahih)
